Driving along a Colorado backroad in the spring, I came across hedge upon hedge of fragrant wild lilacs--a flower known to symbolize devotion.

This abstract floral collage is derived from a defunct painting of the lilacs that I collected along that roadside, along with pieces salvaged and repurposed from other obsolete paintings.
